Professional Development

Advanced Professional Training and Titles of Teachers, Educators and Staff Associates

Teachers, educators, and staff associates, with or without a license, are required undergo continuous development in order to successfully implement and improve educational work, and acquire competencies necessary for their work, in line with the general principles and for achieving the education goals and standards of achievement. Through professional development teachers, educators and staff associates may advance by obtaining the title of pedagogical advisor, independent pedagogical advisor, higher advisor and senior pedagogical advisor.

Teachers, educators and staff associates are entitled to increased wages for their title. Teachers, educators and staff associate have the right to a leave of absence from the institution, for a period of three days per year, to attend the approved form, manner and content of professional training. The schedule of leaves of absence for teachers, educators and staff associates for professional training is planned by the pedagogical collegium.

The plan of professional development is adopted by the institution’s governing body, in accordance with the priorities of the institution for the purpose of achieving the goals of education and standards of achievement, and priorities of the Ministry. The Minister defines the priority areas for a three-year period, the forms of professional training, programs and manner of organizing continuous professional development, terms, the body that passes rulings on issuing titles and promotion procedures, obtaining titles during the training of teachers, educators and staff associates, and form of the certificate of completion, and other issues related to professional development.

Approved Professional Development Programs

One of the forms of professional development of employees in the education is participation in seminars that are approved by the Institute for the Improvement of Education. Here you can download the following documents related to the approved programs:
